Statement of Work
Supply and Demand Analysis for Current Oil Prices and Additional Impacts
1. Background:In conjunction with the increase in oil prices, the company needs to better understand the impact of reduced global oil supplies on constant demand on overall prices and their impacts.The requested analysis will require price and demand curves be analyzed with the appropriate economic models to understand what flat and decreasing supply will do to oil prices over the 2008 thru 2020 time frame.The basic assumption is that the government agency price analysis do not reflect the true situation in the data that oil production will start to decline.Each scenario will provide an annual price for the price of oil in $U.S. dollars and Euros, US Gas prices in dollars (ranges for refiners will be low at 4% & high at 8%), Ethanol prices, and Diesel prices.
2. Scenarios to be analyzed.
a. Scenario 1:Oil supply remains flat during the entire time frame.Demand continues to grow at 1%.
b. Scenario 2:Oil supply decreases 1% annually during the time frame.Demand continues to grow at 1%.
c. Scenario 3:Oil supply decreases 4.5% annually during the time frame.Demand remains flat.
d. Scenario 4:Oil supply decreases on a bell shaped curve assuming the peak on the bell curve was 2006.Demand remains flat.
3. Data sources to be used.
a. 2007 British Petroleum Oil Data
b. U.S. Energy Agency
c. International Energy Agency

4. Output Data
a. Time Frame:2008-2020
b. Oil prices in U.S. Dollars and Euros
c. Gas prices in U.S. Dollars (Upper and Lower ranges as a percentage of oil prices, 8% and 4%)
d. Ethanol prices (As a percentage of oil prices, historical relationship)
e. Diesel prices (As a percentage of oil prices)
5. All responses should include CVs with personnel involved, prior economic analysis conducted, proposed econometric model to be used, and cost in US dollars.Any additional information suggested and/or proposed is welcome beyond the 4 required data pieces.
6. Before analysis is conducted, a review of initial data sources to be used will be submitted and approved.All data should be provided in excel format.
7. All analysis will be considered proprietary and the property of the firm.
