PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Motivated? Energetic? A Make-It-Happen Person? Do you want to have more control and input over the projects you work on?
Join our growing small business and take it to the next level with your LAMP/e-commerce/security/design skills. Work full-time daily on a range of programming projects. This is a long-term ongoing job, with payments made weekly by check or PayPal.
You need more than basic PHP / MySQL skills: in-depth knowledge of SQL and complex queries, AJAX, and elegant user interface design. The ideal candidate is someone with proven skills who is looking for a long-term, rewarding career.
Reliability and good English are required, with off-hours contact information available for emergency situations. You can be located anywhere as long as you have a solid connection to the Internet.
We expect all members of our team to work with other members of staff to sort out and troubleshoot technical issues.
At minimum, an evaluation will be performed at the 3-month mark for an increase to base pay. (It is not uncommon for us to move up the evaluation date if we have productive contribution to our work.) Compensation will be based on qualifications, references, referrals, portfolio and others, not on the cheapest or most expensive bid - quote your weekly rate and provide your timezone and schedule when bidding.
Preliminary projects will involve enhancing our primary e-commerce site, completing conversion projects already underway (legacy - making our site CMS), researching and modifying open source applications such as chat or pdf converters, developing custom XML/RSS feeds, upgrading user interfaces, automating client account features, adding functionality for clients to set preferences or administrator control over visible options.
To successfully fulfill the requirements of this position, you must possess attention to detail and the skills to manage multiple projects without loss of quality. Demonstrated quality of work and responsiveness are important considerations for hiring. No single person has all the knowledge needed for every project, so a positive, motivated attitude and skill in using resources - searching, forums, access to other partners/programmers/developers, etc. - is critical.
