PROJECT DESCRIPTION
AICC wrapper to deliver courses across domains while retaining tracking along with some proprietary XML communications.
The development work can be described as providing an AICC wrapper that will interpret XML communications to create user registrations to my hosted system AND generate progress data in AICC format for posting to a client LMS (standards based). Plus it must ensure simplified communication of the progress to the LMS. In other words, the solution would consist of an AICC wrapper interfacing with my system and content using the XML gateway (detailed specs provided, see attached) as well as communicating progress information to and from with the LMS (standards based).
The AICC wrapper must ensure communication to the client LMS is simple; i.e. handles cross domain and communication via port 80. By its very nature the AICC HACP method will handle the cross domain issue but you must also ensure the solution will not require clients to open up another port on their firewall (security risk and not liked by IT departments). I believe the AICC wrapper piece is straight-forward for a development organisation experienced in e-learning.
Once completed, I would need you to demonstrate that the tracking works with any AICC LMS in a similar environment (intranet hosted with only port 80 open for internet communications) before I would take the solution to a client.
We currently use this product with a 3rd party but want to host it ourselves. I can provide the specs to this current working solution to be used as a basis for our hosted solution.
