Business Process Outsourcing
IBS can offer Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) service in the area of airline revenue accounting. This would essentially mean that an airline could outsource their entire revenue accounting activities to IBS, which will be done from the IBS BPO center in Trivandrum. Apart from the fact that the customer can focus better on core operations, outsourcing represents big savings too. Airlines can get revenue accounting done at a fraction of what it would cost them to run an in-house department. IBS can act as a consultant for revenue accounting and advise companies on better ways of managing that function.
With air passenger traffic projected to grow by five percent a year over the next decade, airlines could be faced with issuing and processing around 75% more tickets by 2010. This will lead to extra costs for the airline companies (due to requirement for more trained staff and additional infrastructure) and will also have a big impact on processing time, reducing efficiency and preventing rapid responses to market trends.
Airline companies are realizing that vertical integration into their core competencies is the essence of successful business.
