Data Entry

Among the various data transformation, there may be some limitations regarding the conventional method. The conventional method used is the Optical Character Recognition (OCR). When the data are manuscripts being transformed for a specific purpose for the customers, the conventional method cannot be applied. In this juncture, they may have to be digitized.

The data received may be manuscripts that are very old and brittle, has lost its properties due to the passage of time. To make the matter worse, they may have varying fonts and other complications likewise. They may also contain some hand written notes that are inevitable.

In situation like this, advanced word processing packages are applied and the data are manually encoded. At Younker & Cognition the media rich data are converted into XML/ SGML files. Apart from manuscripts, the data conversion is done for scanned documents, books or journals as well.
