xtranslations.com is a translation and localization company based in Warsaw (Poland). We provide translation, website translation and software localization services to local and international companies.
Following ISO 9001 certification in 2002, we have implemented a continuous quality improvement process – our objective is to implement the SixSigma system in the near future where every quality parameter will be measured and preventive or corrective action implemented immediately. We have already implemented the guidelines of the prEN 15038 standard concerning Translation Service Providers where emphasis is made on adequate organization and workflow. We have completed the implementation of the Information Security Management System compliant with the BS-7799:2002 standard in June 2005 (certified on August 5, 2005). We have become one of the few companies in Europe and the 9th company in Poland to hold this certificate.

SKILLS
xtranslations.com employs six project managers and one account manager who together with translators and proofreaders constitute seamless teams working on projects according to a set of procedures aiming to ensure top quality. The customer service department is responsible for registering the translation orders and for contacting translators as well as customers. The deadlines are fixed so as to ensure enough time for the translation and revision. The texts are also analyzed in order to determine the subject matter and the level of difficulty and then assigned to translators with the appropriate knowledge in a given field. Wherever possible, the translators are provided with reference materials (customer-specific terminology glossaries and databases, earlier translations approved by the customers). Assignments are conducted in accordance with the specific instructions given by the customers. Special attention is paid to the formatting of the translated document so that it is as close to the original as possible. Once translators return the files, project managers organize the proofreading process and prepare the files for sending to the customer. Response time to customer queries is reduced to a minimum (usually several minutes). The customer is also consulted about any problems or doubts that are vital to the translation process and might turn up in the course of translation project.
