DESCRIPTION
Founded in Singapore and operating through a network of strategic partnerships, FUTURITY is a commercial enterprise that aims to provide a link between a team of trainers certified by the international Center for Nonviolent Communication to share the NVC process under its original name and those businesses that may choose to benefit from their expertise.
In addition to sharing with our end-user clients a process we consider both practical and proven, we believe our preference for using certified trainers who will contribute a percentage of their revenue to CNVC supports the work of that organisation in bringing much needed skills to those areas of the globe that are struggling to overcome poverty and/or violent conflict.
This same practice further supports the needs of those trainers-in-development who might choose to apprentice with our certified trainers for the purposes of learning to deliver powerful corporate trainings, whilst also establishing a client base that can sustain their activities in the future.
In terms of its administration and marketing, as far as possible, FUTURITY aims to maintain a similar ratio in its spending as do charitable or non-profit organisations based in Singapore - i.e. 30:70.
We achieve this by working through selected training providers both in Singapore and around South East Asia, whose integrity and commitment to sustainability and service we admire.
Also, the first 10% of any income received by us goes towards supporting the activities of the Singapore Centre for the Promotion of Nonviolent Communication (SCPNVC at www.scpnvc.org.sg).
Through these and other creative business strategies, we aim to live the change we hope to see in the world - i.e. to operate in a way that allows us contribute as much to our community as we do to our clients.
SKILLS
Originally conceived as a language of peace by International Mediator, CNVC Founder and Director of Educational Services, Dr Marshall B Rosenberg in 1963, the process of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is contributing to a vast transformation in thinking, speaking and acting in government, homes, schools and businesses around the world.
Through Nonviolent Communication corporate employees have an opportunity to:
- Create more satisfying personal connections both at work and at home
- Meet their own, their colleagues, customers and strategic partners needs in ways that honour and respect shared values
- Heal from pervious experiences and relationships that have been painful or unsuccessful
Instead of attempting to analyze or explain human differences, NVC focuses attention on shared human needs, and encourages the use of language that increases goodwill.
NVC emphasizes taking personal responsibility for choices and improving the quality of relationships as a primary goal. It is effective even when other people involved are not familiar with the process.
It is precise, disciplined and compassionate, working around the premise that people are more willingly motivated through connection with their desire to serve life than by fear, guilt, blame or shame.
NVC skills training is delivered by a team of some 180 trainers certified by the international Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC).
FUTURITY works through strategic partnerships to make training accessible to businesspeople in areas where no trainer is regularly available.
