What we do is less important than what you want.

Once we know what you want, our sourcing staff (usually located in the countries of origin) track down through our extensive databases and networks, the most suitable global supplier for your requirement. Suppliers currently span China, Pakistan and Malaysia – we also actively explore other regions.

We cut out the middlemen, allowing you to buy direct from the factory. In essence, we are the marketing and sales divisions for our suppliers. Instead of you buying though importers, who have to buy through local agents, many of whom in turn buy from other trading companies, Off-The-Map deals direct with the supplier to lower purchase costs and make sure clarity of instruction is not obscured by a chain of middlemen.

The world-class manufacturing capabilities of our suppliers are ideal for off-the-shelf, bespoke, OEM or semi-finished, consumer and industrial products. To help guarantee performance, we continually assess and qualify our suppliers, including regular factory visits. For your project we can arrange factory visits for your company (ideally with your purchasing, product development and QC teams), to assess their production capabilities first hand, agree protocol, terms & conditions and expectation face-to-face. Ascertaining their flexibility to change and adapt in the production development stage is a vital ingredient. We can of course do this on your behalf, along with quality control (to all major quality certification organisations) and production schedule monitoring.

Off-The-Map is not the largest manufacturing sourcing company, but we strive to operate with integrity and care as much about project success as you do. That’s why a director oversees each project.

The cheapest price is not always the best price. It’s about selecting the right supplier and specialists and then managing them effectively as a team, to optimise quality and rapid delivery. This means a continual process managing consistency, problem solving, relationship and expectation management as well as the ability to cut through cultural and bureaucratic issues.

Our staff can co-ordinate everything from initial design through to manufacturing and production, quality control, assembly, logistics and rapid delivery. We also ensure absolute confidentiality, our aim being to afford you peace of mind.

We utilise a best-of-breed strategy for all specialist requirements and have established partnerships including consumer product designers, industrial designers, engineers, and quality control experts.

If your concern is intellectual property piracy, then we can offer the best available IP protection on offer, using local legal advisors with whom we work. This may include face-to-face meetings with you and the suppliers we use to agree comprehensive confidentiality contracts, which usually require legal representation. Alternatively, we can manage this on your behalf.

Product procurement spans a broad category from ‘off-the-shelf’ products to raw materials – from 500,000 tonnes of cement to 5,000 hose clips, from an oil tanker to boat cleats, all recent requests and fulfilment’s.

TERMS
We work with our suppliers on your behalf. Our aim is to lower your costs in order for you to increase your profitability by passing our suppliers’ low manufacturing costs on to you. All of our costs are included in the quoted price – no surprises, no hidden extras, no percentages, no added margins, no sliding scales. Our price to you is all inclusive.

Our payment terms are simple too. We ask for 50% of the total order value (including all shipping and services) at point of order, with the remaining 50% to be paid on final delivery.
