The Law Firm of Averilla Salazar Defensor & Enrile (SEDALAW) is a full-service Filipino law firm formally organized in response to the felt need of individuals and business entities, which have admittedly been affected by the recent worlwide economic downturn, for legal professionals that will address their need for quality, yet cost-effective legal services.

In its effort to address the need for affordable legal services that could be made available to the world by way of outsourcing/offshoring, SEDALAW is in the process of incorporating a third-party outsourced service provider to cater to law firms and corporate legal departments from the US initially, and eventually to the rest of the world. At present, it already caters to US practitioners on a limited engagement.

SEDALAW believes that the Philippines is a good, if not the better, option for legal services outsourcing as it is considered the "closest-to-America-in-Asia". According to Richard Mills who is called the "Asia-Pacific Expert" by Call Center Magazine, this is the unique selling proposition (USP) of the Philippines. "Filipinos", he added, "are arguably the best in Asia because their legal, insurance, banking, medical systems are all copied after America's and they speak better English than anyone else in Asia." The Philippines has a 94% literacy rate and based on the latest META Group Telecom Maturity Model (MTMM), the Philippine IT, telecoms and energy infrastructure was upgraded to C1 ranking which means developing with high potential for rapid evolution from its previous D(underdeveloped) category. This puts the Philippines at par with India. The country is now among the fastest growing Asian countries in international connectivity.

As legal outsourcing is a relatively new phenomenon particularly in the Philippines, SEDALAW is presently investing in capability building in order to ensure quality and affordable service to its offshore clientelle.
