EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Advanced Research Projects & Technologies (henceforth ARPATECH) is an internationally recognized technology incubator focused on developing ideas into real world products and solutions.
We believe in using a proactive and innovative approach at providing solutions to the most challenging problems faced by our customers. Our 8-step methodology and instituted stringent quality assurance procedures help us in delivering consistently high standards that our customers expect. Our methodology involves interfacing with our customers at every step of the development process, exchanging ideas and insights that allow us to meet both the requirements of the project as well as our own requirement of Micro-Project Improvement™.
There are few companies in the smart-sourcing world that can provide the level of technical expertise, cost effectiveness and the earnest desire to serve their customers. ARPATECH is one of those companies, taking pride in our effort one customer at a time.

ABOUT US
ARPATECH employs a highly skilled, non-generalist work-force of about 40 employees. 99% of our employees are focused on engineering tasks, with a majority working on software engineering projects. As the premiere engineering organization we attract some of the brightest minds in the industry, schooled at some of the world’s leading universities such as Carnegie Mellon, Yale, Columbia, Rutgers University, NTU Singapore, University of Surrey (UK), LUMS, FAST among others. We also have a proud heritage of incubating Fulbright Scholars.

Depending upon the complexity of projects we are usually involved in between 4-8 projects at any given time. This gives us the ability to focus on advanced engineering tasks as opposed to simpler off-shore development efforts. We also have the capacity to design, engineer, develop/proto-type, and serialize production, of customized appliances, in concert with our Chinese hardware partner. Our projects have eventually gone on to be recognized as “break-through” products by accrediting organizations (“ELI”, 2005 Security Break-Through Product, Network World).

With an expansive resource pool of skilled engineers available in the South Asian region (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh), we have the ability to expand our capacity at short notice. Towards that end over the years we have been tasked by some of the leading Global Technology firms to enable them in a number of their technology efforts.

The question of capability is perhaps one of the most important questions in assessing an smart-sourcing partner. ARPATECH’s capability is assessable from our deployed solutions, most of which are available for our prospective customers to view. This allows us to set the expectations of our clients from the onset vis-à-vis our capability. Additionally it gives us the ability to showcase our developed solutions.

We develop solutions around the two technology worlds of Open Source and Non-Open Source technologies. Our advanced skills are in the development of solutions leveraging open source technologies, such as the Java framework, Tomcat, JBoss, and WebSphere, with database SQL engines from MySQL and PostGres. We have extensive experience in TCP/IP and Socket based programming. We are also skilled in the .Net framework with its associated technologies ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, and MSSQL.

In order to minimize porting and environmental constraints we replicate our customer environments locally in the development, unit testing and QA process.

Functionally we provide our customers with Data Analytics, IT Ops, Engineering, and research capabilities.

INFRASTRUCTURE
ARPATECH has an advanced communications network allowing for CDMA based VOIP for all international voice transactions. This provides us with wireless redundancy for voice communications. Land based communications are available via five PSTN networks.
All PM teams are available through SKYPE, AOL IM, and MSN Messenger.
All networks and associated computer are provided backup power generation and operate on high-capacity UPS systems. Facilities can be monitored by customers 24x7 via IP Based Web-Cams.

Project Based Pricing
All pricing provided is project based. Customers deliver a business requirement and technical specification document that results in a Statement of Work (SOW) being issued. The SOW outlines and expands upon the technical requirements, while providing the timelines and project costs for deliverables.
Customer must sign-off on the SOW before work commences. All work effort is preceded with Mutual on-Disclosure-Agreements as well as Intellectual Property protection agreements.

For pre-proposal assessment and budgeting please factor pricing at US$12.50 to US$18.00 per hour of project work effort.
