Universal Print Systems Limited, a technology driven company and a profit-making venture, was incorporated in 1995.
The company acquired the skill sets and goodwill of Print Systems and Products – a specialist pre-press house with over two decades of experience in the industry. UPSL has helped pioneer a quantum shift in the state-of-the-art technology especially in the pre press cycle.

UPSL represents Esko Graphics and Dainippon Screen in the region. Naturally, we deploy the finest configuration of hardware available to the industry. Super powered Servers along with High-end Workstations, Calibrated Monitors, super fast networks, Wacom tablets, Barco Graphics Imagesetter and Dainippon screen scanners form our technology back-bone.

Infrastructure:
Chennai Unit: The Chennai Pre-press unit is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from Dainippon Screen, Japan. The unit has four high-end colour scanners with a wide network of workstations including PCs.
The unit works with specialised software for packaging creativity and page station systems. The customer support interface includes three specialised machines for soft proofing and wet proofing.

Bangalore Unit: The Bangalore Pre-press unit is fully equipped with the latest line of equipment and systems from Esko Graphics, Belgium.
The main server driving the network also has a specialised software suite from Esko for packaging, label design and imaging. The unit also has a dedicated hard and soft proofing facility.
Software: Among other software’s such as Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw, UPSL has exclusive capabilities with PackEdge (full-featured packaging prepress editor offering unique technologies) ColorTone (image editing and retouching software), Plato (for creating step and repeat files) and Impose (for electronic imposition of multipage documents) are some of the high-end software utilised for pre-press precision. UPSL uses the latest version of all software, for all platforms, at all times.

Hardware: PC / Mac (G4/G5) / Monitors (calibrated) / Scanner / Image Setters (Barco / Katana / Tanto) / Processors

The Image setters can output films as large as 30"x40" with resolution as high as 5080 ppi in all dot shapes including the superior Fogra Round dot, FM screening (at different frequencies) and a combination of various screens and dot shapes in one jet.

SKILLS
Digital Image Manipulation:
At UPSL, we do digital image manipulation, high quality image retouching with skillful and artistic touch, which involves tonal adjustments, cropping, moiré reduction, color correction, sharpening, cloning and all forms of manipulation.

Package Design:
We predict the press and add value to your packaging and commercial designs with unique technologies and dedicated tools focused on your major pre-press pain points (e.g. trapping, distortion, screening, barcodes,).

Counterfeit Protection:
Anti-counterfeiting design features brings a product to the packaging market that allows adding a number of anti-counterfeiting elements to the packaging design. We add a touch of high-class luxury to your designs using the anti-counterfeiting features. Not only does the toolset bring you a certain level of security, it also gives your packages the look of a high-class product.

Offset proofing and Digital Printing:
We offer flatbed offset proofing and digital printing
